Deltas, it’s time to do what we do best, and make our voices heard this election cycle. Since the Women’s Suffrage Parade on March 3, 1913, in an act of fierce determination, Deltas have played crucial roles in shaping the political landscape of this country, and we have continued to have our names stamped in history books for 111 years.

Whether it be strolling to the polls in unprecedented numbers, phone banking, or registering voters in the community, Deltas have been leading the charge for voter outreach. As a Delta, you stand on the shoulders of legends that came before you such as the late, great Shirley Chisholm, the first African-American woman elected to Congress and the first woman and African American to seek a major party’s presidential nomination. Likewise, your efforts not only pay tribute to the groundbreaking work of those who came before, but it keeps their rich legacy alive.

This election has also shown the world the collective power of the Divine Nine as all organizations have came together to launch an extensive, coordinated campaign to mobilize voters and ensure that our community is informed, engaged, and ready to show up in every election. As we approach this election, let us remember that our participation is not just a right, but a responsibility. When we stroll to the polls, we are not just voting; we are paving the way for the next generation by leaving the world better than we found it.

This month, we wanted to make sure you’re equipped with the perfect items to represent Delta Sigma Theta this election cycle. You’ll be representing your Delta Voices, Delta Votes Sweatshirt and matching Lapel Pin. Plus, we’re including a custom edition of Lovely One by Soror and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, featuring a personalized letter from her to you. To sweeten your civic duties, enjoy a delectable Chocolate Bar. You’re also invited to an exclusive virtual event with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson in October; the invitation is enclosed.
